What is Jira?

Jira Software is part of a family of products designed to help teams of all types manage work. Originally, Jira was designed as a bug and issue tracker. But today, Jira has evolved into a powerful work management tool for all kinds of use cases, from requirements and test case management to agile software development.

Over the past few years, I’ve become quite skilled with Jira Software, Jira Service Desk and Jira Core.  Prior experience includes implementing a fully integrated Jira Cloud environment, that included not only IT service desks, but extended to other non-IT business areas to handle their service desk needs, including HR (Human Resources), Facilities/Plant Management, Quality Control and so on.

What is Confluence?

Create, collaborate, and organize all your work in one place. Confluence is a team workspace where knowledge and collaboration meet. Dynamic pages give your team a place to create, capture, and collaborate on any project or idea. Confluence is a sophisticated type of wiki-markup tool, which integrates with Jira.  Jira Service desk uses Confluence as the Knowledge Base repository.
